"The Center for Immigration Studies is
an independent, non-profit
organization founded in 1985. It is the nation's
only think tank devoted
exclusively to
research and policy analysis of the economic, social, demographic,
and
environmental impact of immigration on the United States.
"It is the Center's
mission to expand the base of public knowledge and
understanding of the need for an immigration policy that
gives first concern to
the
broad national interest. The Center provides a variety of
services for
academics, policy makers, journalists, and other interested
parties."
In our view, CIS studies are thorough and academically rigorous,
and its
publications are lucid and compelling. It often invites journalists
and
Congressional staffers to attend releases of new studies.
This provides
opportunities
to ask questions of study authors as well as other experts
in the fields under
study. Consequently, CIS studies and the CIS staff are particularly
well
regarded and their counsel is often sought by journalists
and Congressional
staffers. The CIS staff is also sought by and seen and/or
heard on prominent
national and regional TV and radio programs.
CIS has not been evaluated by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance.
