If you have read the pages associated with the Think Population-Facts
buttons, you know there are only two factors that can affect
world population:
births
and deaths. If the number of births exceeds the number of
deaths, world
population grows. Also, you know there are only three factors
that can affect
population in a nation: births, deaths, and net immigration.
If, within a
nation, the number of births exceeds the number of deaths
and/or the number of
immigrants exceeds the number of emigrants, that nation's
population grows.
There are many organizations concerned with one or another
of these causes of
population growth. To learn more about these organizations
and the work they
do, please click on one or more of the three "Action" buttons
at the left:
Think Birth & Fertility Rates, Think Immigration & Emigration,
and Think
Mortality & Life Spans.
After visiting our Action By Cause pages, if you know of other
organizations concerned with one of these three causes of population
growth which should be included on this website, please click
on "Contact Us" and tell us about them. It would help, if you
could provide us with the names of people who can send us information
about goals and objectives of their organizations.
